Great Oaks Manor Plantation Weddings

When I started planning my wedding, I knew I wanted it to be outdoor and somewhere close to home. From the first day that we pulled into the drive until the minute we were pulling out in our getaway car, Great Oaks took my breath away. The venue is absolutely stunning. One of the great things about choosing Great Oaks Manor was their packaging options. We chose the all inclusive package with a wedding coordinator. Once we were paired with our second coordinator, Lindsay from Lean on Me Events. everything went smoothly. Thank you so much for putting together the wedding of my dreams!

This is such a beautiful venue. I wanted something with character, not too far out, just interesting and pretty. Not having to research a florist, DJ, baker, minister, linens provider, or even photobooth services, made my life SO much easier!!!! They're basically a one stop shop, making planning that much less hectic. Their packages include location, basic linens, tables and chairs and food, then they provide you with a list of their preferred vendors for anything else you might want. I loved and highly recommend all of their preferred vendors. I'm still getting compliments on how good our cake and cupcakes were from World Cakes. Their entire staff go above and beyond, and you can't go wrong with a photo booth. The food was great, everyone loved it. I have to say, I had a clear vision of how I wanted my wedding day to go and it exceeded all of my expectations due to the outstanding people associated with this lovely venue.

My husband and I had recent gotten married at Great Oaks Manor. We had such a great time on our wedding. It was stress-free experience thanks to you wonderful coordinator, Tracy. She followed up with all my emails and phone calls. Everyone in my family had a great time. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and delicious. From beginning to end Great Oaks exceeded our expectations. Tracy was absolutely fabulous. I did not have to lift a finger or worry about anything. People actually came up to me and were raving about our reception. The lighted lanterns in the trees were so pretty, it was magical, just like another bride said. The food was outstanding and the service was incredible. I recommend this place to any bride looking for a stress-free experience. Everyone that attended the wedding had something nice to say about it.

My ceremony and reception were awesome! Great Oaks Manor rocks! Everything was so pretty, and the owner and coordinator worked with us to pull it all together last minute! We picked one of their buffet packages, planned our wedding for this October, then had to move it up to two weeks from the day we signed because my fiancé was getting deployed. Tracy and Carey the owner, put it all together in two weeks and it was perfect. They worked really hard getting it all done just the way we wanted. Tracy's flowers were so pretty, everyone was asking who did the flowers. The buffet was beautiful and the food was fantastic. Even my MIL loved it! The owner had a death in her family and even flew back from out of town to make sure everything went smoothly, then had to fly out the next morning. She went way beyond the call of duty! We used the photographer Tracy recommended, and they were great, easy to work with and not bossy like the one my sister used for her wedding.

Everything was BEAUTIFUL, exactly as I had imagined my wedding would be. I loved the paper lanterns all lit up and the sparkler send off at the end. The staff was wonderful, attentive and easy to work with and the food was delicious. We are recommending them for two of our friends who are engaged to be married next year!

Great Oaks Manor is a great venue for anything from an elopement ceremony to your perfect larger wedding. The wedding coordinator, Kathy, is a joy to work with! We had the small, intimate wedding for 12 people but the owners are just putting the finishing touches on the "Garden Room" which is perfect for bigger gatherings. There are gazebos, large verandahs, and large oak trees with Spanish moss. The best part of this wedding venue is that it is a beautiful Southern Colonial mansion that is also a bed and breakfast, so we spent our wedding night in a very large suite with a jetted tub. Very romantic! A lovely breakfast is included in the room rate and we ate at a table just for the two of us. Everything was perfect for our special day!

We had a beautiful wedding at Great Oaks. We could not have asked for a more romantic, intimate setting. We had our reception party outside under the trees, and everyone had a wonderful time. We received many compliments on the venue, food, and overall experience. They were incredibly accommodating, responsive, and helpful in assisting us with planning. We truly had a magical time, and after looking for a picturesque, romantic venue for months, we were excited to find it.

This venue is absolutely beautiful and the photos prove what a great venue it can be. The owner can be a little slow in responding but we had a great wedding planner from Lean on Me Events that made the wedding everything my daughter dreamed of and more!

Not sure where to start with this review, as so many things almost went wrong and would have been disastrous if my own coordinator hadn't caught the issues early enough. Since the last reviewer's experience, they have changed coordinators two times. The first one was so awful that I couldn't sleep from all the stress and had to hire my own planner to make sure nothing else went wrong. Thus there was a lot of confusion between the venue owner and us when he quit working there. With Carey, we were finally able to get things arranged and I wish we could have just kept communicating with her instead of her new coordinator. The new coordinator thought we were not getting our catering through them, and also thought we were not holding our ceremony there--just the reception. The first issue occurred less than 3 weeks before the wedding, and the second the week OF the wedding. So needless to say, we are less than pleased with Great Oaks Manor's coordinators. Another issue we had is the dinner served tasted nothing like what we had at the tasting. It was so bad that the only thing I could eat was the salad and the accompanying pasta. I had to go out after my own wedding to eat dinner! That's unacceptable in my opinion. From my experiences, I would say that if you choose to use Great Oaks Manor then hire your own coordinator and a 3rd party caterer. The venue itself is pretty for an intimate wedding/event, so I wouldn't say it's a bad choice overall.
